CM Omar Abdullah Welcomes Spring with Inauguration of Almond Bloom Festival at Badamwari

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Almond Bloom Festival on Friday at Badamwari Garden in Srinagar’s old city, marking the beginning of spring in Kashmir. The event was organized by the Tourism and Floriculture Departments and saw participation from senior officials, artists, and the general public. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chowdhury, NC chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Director of Tourism, and other dignitaries were also present. The festival’s main attraction was a grand musical show that started at 3 PM. Popular Kashmiri artists like Noor Mohammad, Aayan Sajad, Irfan Bilal, and Zaid Sikandar performed live, captivating the audience with their soulful melodies. The blooming of almond trees at Badamwari is a traditional sign of spring’s arrival in Kashmir, and this festival not only celebrates the region’s natural beauty but also provides a stage for local artists to showcase their talent.
