Official Approval Granted to Kupwara Nursing College

Kupwara is set to witness a major development in higher education with the approval of a nursing college. The administration has officially sanctioned the establishment of the college at Kashmir University’s satellite campus in the district. This decision was made during a meeting of the university’s academic council and is expected to enhance professional education opportunities in the region. Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, shared the news on X and expressed gratitude to Professor Neelofar Khan, Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, and Professor Peerzada Sharifdin, Dean of Academic Affairs, for accepting his request. He welcomed the move, stating that it would create new educational avenues in Kupwara. He also expressed optimism about the introduction of additional courses, such as pharmacy, in the future. The Civil Society Forum Kupwara had long been advocating for a nursing college in the district. The forum emphasized the need for accessible paramedical and nursing education, as many students struggle to afford such courses outside Kupwara.
