The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked at several points on Sunday due to landslides and mudslides triggered by heavy rains and cloudbursts. The most severely affected stretch lies between Seri and Maroog, spanning approximately four kilometers and suffering major damage. Despite the disruption, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah assured the public that there is no shortage of essential supplies in the Kashmir Valley. “There is no shortage of supplies in Kashmir… we have everything for the next three to four days,” Abdullah stated, following a review meeting with district officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Authorities have initiated massive road clearance operations to restore connectivity and ensure uninterrupted supply lines. Abdullah emphasized that both the administration and relief teams are on high alert to manage the situation effectively.
