Dr. Hakeem Naseer Ahmad Shah, a well-known Unani practitioner and founder of Unani and Panchakarma Hospitals in Kashmir, was honored by Rex Remedies for his work in promoting Unani medicine. At a special event held at SKICC Srinagar, Dr. Shah received the Hakeem Nazeef Usmani Award, which included a trophy, a shawl, a certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 21,000. The award ceremony was organized by Rex Remedies, a leading Unani medicine manufacturer based in Delhi, to celebrate the contributions of prominent Unani practitioners in Kashmir. Dr. Shah has been a major advocate for Unani medicine, reaching a wider audience through his bi-weekly radio talks on All India Radio Srinagar for over 20 years. Along with Dr. Shah, two other respected Hakeems, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar and Hakeem Yaqoob Sb, were also recognized for their contributions to traditional medicine in the region. Rex Remedies’ initiative aims to raise awareness about Unani medicine and highlight the importance of traditional healers in Kashmir’s healthcare system.
