District Hospital (DH) Shopian has secured the top rank among the best-performing district hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the latest rankings by the National Health Mission (NHM) J&K. In contrast, MCCH Anantnag and District Hospital JLNM are among the five lowest-ranked hospitals.
The NHM J&K released its hospital rankings on Saturday for January 2025, based on the Hospital Management Information System (JKeSahaj).
For the third consecutive month, DH Shopian has maintained its position as the highest-ranked hospital.
ASYM District Hospital Budgam secured second place, followed by District Hospital Ganderbal.
A hospital official attributed DH Shopian’s success to the introduction of new lab tests, which have drawn more patients from private hospitals. The hospital has seen a significant rise in patient visits and a decrease in referrals to other facilities.
The bottom five hospitals in the rankings include MCCH Anantnag, District Hospital JLNM, Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital Poonch, District Hospital Kulgam, and District Hospital Ramban.
Among the top-performing Associated Hospitals, GMC Kathua ranked first, followed by GMC and AH Rajouri.
In the Community Health Centre (CHC) category, CHC Mendhar was ranked the best, while CHC Langate was among the lowest-performing CHCs.
