
Weather Alert: Rain and Snow Expected in J&K Till February 28
The Meteorological Department (MeT) has predicted a four-day wet spell in Jammu and Kashmir starting Tuesday, with rain and snow expected until February 28.
According to the forecast, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are likely from Tuesday evening, with the intensity increasing on February 27.
The MeT has issued a Yellow Alert for February 25 and 26 across Jammu and Kashmir. On February 27, an Orange Alert has been issued for both regions, indicating more severe weather. For February 28, Jammu will remain under an Orange Alert, while Kashmir will have a Yellow Alert.
The advisory warns of isolated heavy rain and snowfall during this period, which may impact surface transportation. The weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy over the next four days, with significant precipitation likely between February 25 evening and February 28 late night.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of MeT, advised residents to stay updated on weather conditions as some areas may experience heavy rain or snow, affecting daily activities.
