Kashmir has set a new tourism record in 2024, with approximately 3 million visitors, including both domestic and international tourists. This marks a significant rise from the 2.71 million tourists in 2023 and 2.67 million in 2022. According to a tourism department official, the total number of visitors in 2024 was recorded at around 2.95 million, making it one of the best tourist seasons in the Valley. The official highlighted that this surge in tourism is a reflection of improved security, better infrastructure, and successful promotional efforts that have attracted travelers to Kashmir. The positive growth in tourist arrivals is seen as a strong recovery for the region, and the authorities are hopeful that 2025 will witness even more visitors, further enhancing the local economy and showcasing Kashmir as a key destination for global travelers.
