
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting light to moderate rainfall and snowfall on March 26 and 27.
As per the forecast, North and Central Kashmir may experience rain and snow in the higher altitudes starting Wednesday afternoon, continuing through the night. Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from March 28 onward.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Meteorological Department, stated that intermittent rain and snowfall are anticipated in several areas, particularly in North and Central Kashmir, from the afternoon of March 26 until nighttime, with a similar pattern on March 27. A gradual clearing of weather is expected after this period.
Dry conditions are likely to prevail between March 28 and April 3.
Authorities have advised travelers and transporters to make plans accordingly and adhere to official guidelines. Farmers have been recommended to pause activities during this wet spell. Additionally, some areas might experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds.
